Sigma Omicron Epsilon was established in March 30 1997, becoming the second American Indian
sorority in the nation.
Sigma Omicron Epsilon has gained sisters who are business owners, doctors, nurses, authors, former Miss Lumbee
and Miss Haliwa- Saponi crown holders and several other interesting careers. Sigma Omicron Epsilon enjoys yearly trips to
different beaches, traveling to several powwows around North Carolina and participating in many social and political events
on and off campus. Our goal is the enrichment of Native women through sisterhood, higher education, American Indian traditions,
and expressing culture through food and dance.
